GPEC ASIA 2009 - SOUTH EAST ASIA'S FIRST DEDICATED POLICE SHOW

The famous General Police and Special Equipment Exhibition and Conference (GPEC) by Exhibition and Marketing Wehrstedt GmbH (EMW) of Germany has launched its Asian chapter in Malaysia with the name 1st General Police and Special Equipment Exhibition and Conference Asia 2009 or in short GPEC ASIA 2009 under the respectable organization of F&R Exhibition and Conference Sdn. Bhd.

GPEC ASIA 2009 scheduled for 24-26 June 2009 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) is to be held for the first time ever in Asia and outside Germany. The City of Kuala Lumpur will host this specialized and most effective one-stop regional procurement show for the Police, Emergency, Security, and Law enforcement communities in ASEAN and its surrounding neighbours, is hosted by the Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia and supported by the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP).

With its debut in Malaysia and the South East Asia region as the first ever dedicated police show, this platform will house more than 25 participating countries covering showcases of over 30 product groups on modern technological advancements in C41 Systems, Forensic IT, Safety, Observation and Surveillance Technology, Criminal Investigation and Task Force Technology, Clothing, Personal Equipment and Body Armour, Forensic Technology, Proof of Narcotics, Equipment for Rescue and Medical Aid, EOD, UXO and NBC Protection Systems, Non-lethal and Self-defence Weapons, Small Arms and Ammunition, Pyrotechnics, Vehicle Technology, Traffic Control and Safety Equipment, Instructions, Logistics, Training, and others.

Among the major companies that confirmed participation and have registered their interest include Audi AG, Spectronic AS, Aero-Avia, Nimrod, CT-One Corp, Adsels Solution, Homeland Technology, Matrix Innovations, SME Ordnance, Surefire, Broadcast Microwave Services, Prospectrum, Nexbis, Drager Safety Asia, Premium Digital, Sapura Secured Technologies, Castle Security Solution, Weststar LDV, Cisco Systems, Comintel, DNA Asia ICT, Motorola Asia Pacific, Pyser-SGI Asia, TJ Systems, DEFTECH, amongst the many companies.

During the expostion, GPEC ASIA 2009 will also host a conference which will feature an international panel of speakers and experts before an audience of more than 200 law enforcement personnel and government officials focusing on inter-force cooperation for information exchange amongst the ASEAN ministries of home affairs and police forces with other invited law enforcement agencies from other countries like Australia and New Zealand, just to name a few.

By the invitation of the Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia and Royal Malaysia Police, official delegates from ASEAN, Australia, New Zealand and the region's neighbours would be attending this 3-day affair and it will be the most important event for the law enforcement community for the region to experience.

LAUNCHING CEREMONY - 1ST GENERAL POLICE EQUIPMENT EXHIBITION & CONFERENCE 2009 (GPEC ASIA 2009)

Tuesday 8 July 2008 - Today marks the launching of the inaugural GPEC ASIA 2009 - 1st General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference 2009, ever to be held in Malaysia, let alone Asia. GPEC ASIA 2009 is a closed and specialised trade fair exclusively for members of authorities for the business with police equipment, security technology and services specifically targeted for the Asia-pacific region.

GPEC was first organized in Germany by the Chief Executive Officer of EMW Exhibition & Marketing Wehrstedt GmbH, Dr. Uwe H. Wehrstedt ten years ago. It has ever since successfully been held biennially, offering all parts of governing authorities and homeland security forces to attend and inform themselves about any kind of new developments, technologies and trends in the field of police and special equipment.

GPEC ASIA 2009 will present itself as a perfect platform for the region's development of the security and police equipment industry that will enhance the police and security forces with the introduction of the latest technology and cutting edge tools necessary for the prevention, protection, and response to homeland security.

This specialised trade event is unique in Asia as it acts as a congregation platform for all regional security and safety enforcement agencies to assemble for unilateral purposes in strengthening interdepartmental and interdisciplinary exchange of information and current efforts in combatin terrorism, crime and homeland threats. With it being the only general police and security equipment show in Asia, GPEC ASIA 2009 is bound to make an impact in the Asia-pacific region as the show that showcases the largest range of state-of-the-art police and security equipment hence, an idea avenue for the procurement of hi-tech equipment and devices necessary for homeland security.

GPEC ASIA 2009 which is scheduled to be held from 24th - 26th June 2009 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur, targets participation from various relevant local and international weaponry manufacturers and suppliers, procurement offices, technicians, instructors, members of parliament, various departments of police, coast guards, drug enforcement, general operation force, immigration, prison officers and many more from the said industry.

GPEC ASIA 2009 was earlier launched by YB Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar, Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The event that is hosted by the Ministry of Home Affairs is organized by F&R Exhibition and Conference Sdn. Bhd. and supported by the Royal Malaysia Police with the association of the Prisons Department Malaysia, National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), Malaysia Civil Defence Department (JPA3), Immigration Department of Malaysia, and Malaysian People's Volunteer Corp (RELA).
